Iyengar Yoga is the best thing ever for pregnant women (and others!).
During my pregnancy, I was searching for soothing activities but also for strengthening ones.
By chance, I discovered Himayoga. I dived into the experience of Yoga, and I took classes until a few days before my delivery.
I had never practiced Yoga before, and it wasn’t a problem at all. During each class, I would feel my body making progress
and getting more and more flexible. Yoga is really the best way to feel lighter and more flexible during pregnancy,
and it also helps to share this special time with the baby, more deeply. We can feel so relaxed and in tune with what’s happening.
I don’t know if it helped, but my son is both, serene and energetic, and it was fun to share with him those moments!
After few months following the birth, I was so looking forward to get back to classes with Céline! You feel so light afterward!
My family and I are going to move soon to Montreal, and I am going to miss very much my classes at Himayoga.
But Céline recommended some classes there! I will tell you all about it!

Prenatal Yoga classes were always an enjoyable time for me. I started Yoga after my second month of pregnancy. I really enjoyed Céline’s special and individual care for each of us. She was always very aware of any difficulty or any inconvenience due to pregnancy. She makes sure to create classes that are pleasurable, and she helps pregnant women to feel good with their bodies and in their minds, in order to reach a better feeling and a complete relaxation. The class is built between a long series of soft stretching and postures that help to work every parts of the body. It is like “re” discovering all the potential of your body in spite of this big belly! You don’t feel fat or heavy anymore, and you feel that you can move around and do many things in spite of being pregnant. You are breathing, you are making space in your mind, you are focusing and re-centering ; it is really a pleasant time. A time of complete relaxation follows those exercises, with specific postures. You just let go, and you can even fall asleep! What a wonderful time! Getting back to reality and life is always happening softly, and you feel so good after class that you cannot wait for the next one to come! I feel lucky to have discovered Yoga, and I am looking forward to join ‘normal’ yoga classes, and to keep learning about self-discovery. See you soon!

To practice yoga during pregnancy is an indescribable source of well-being. The different postures are adapted each month, and all of them are restoring. It is also the best way to be in tune with your baby. I have been practicing yoga for a long time, but it was a very special experience to practice while successively pregnant of my daughters. I would recommend Yoga to any women looking for peacefulness during their pregnancy. Moreover, both of my daughters were breech birth, and the delivery was anyhow easy and quick, and I will never forget those rare physical moments. I am convinced that the opening of the body with Yoga was beneficial to ease my deliveries. Yoga is also the best way to recover from childbirth. My older daughter, Maud, is now almost 2 years old, and she just started to do few fun yoga exercises such as the dog and the turtle. She loves it! Thank you Céline!

Hi Céline! I gave birth on the night of December 21st 2007. It was only few hours after the Prenatal Yoga class, the last one of the year. The midwife said that I could thank you. She didn’t need to tell me to do that, I was going to do it! I am sure that Yoga, and especially your classes, helped me tremendously for this easy delivery. The midwife wanted to induce the birth 3 days after I saw you as I had a kidney malfunction. But I got to the clinic at 1 am, with a 2 cm cervix, and 1 hour later, it was 8 cm, so the midwife called the doctor. Chloé was born at 2.52 am, in the most natural way! I love Yoga! Thank you again for all the individual attention in class, and for your kindness and patience.

I would also like to gratefully thank Céline for her prenatal Yoga classes. I was new to yoga when I started during my 4th month of pregnancy, and this class became my once a week relaxing and well-being treat: how wonderful to be able to focus on yourself, and to be able to feel your baby moving during the exercises! The day of the delivery, the breathing exercises proved to be very useful in order to release the contractions: I got into the hospital dilated at 8 after 3 hours of work only. Considering the fact that it was my first pregnancy, I was hoping to be dilated enough in order to get the epidural injection. All the midwives at the hospital confirmed that I was handling the contractions great: they knew I had received a special preparation. They were right: thanks to Celine’s classes!

Daphne Crowther, lawyer

Pregnant with twins and nervous and tense after the 4th month of pregnancy, I took Prenatal Yoga classes on Friday evenings and/or Wednesday mornings. It helped me to get more peaceful and to relax deeply. I highly recommend to all pregnant ladies those classes that help to focus on yourself and on the child to be born.

I would like to witness how Yoga taught by Céline helped me. I started Yoga classes at my second month of pregnancy, and Anaé, my daughter, was born a month ago. The delivery has been an amazing experience for me and for Anaé’s father. I go the first contractions at 8 pm, we got to the birthing clinic at 10 pm, and at 0.30 am, Anaé was on my belly. I gave birth without any epidural or episiotomy, and without any stitches. I am convinced that Yoga and Celine’s care made this possible. With Yoga, I learnt to breathe, to focus on different parts of my body, to let go, to trust myself and to be in peace with myself. Yoga classes for pregnant women are a tremendous help for the perineum. I gave birth before term, but I didn’t have to prepare my perineum with any massages. It was tonic, flexible and in optimal shape, thanks to Céline’s classes. I didn’t try to avoid the pain, but I let it happen. My body was connected to it, and then, it wasn’t pain anymore, it was just a sensation, and I had to listen to it and get through with it. I felt my daughter through me and it was amazing. I will make the exact same choices for my next child. I just got back to classes, and Céline’s attention remains the same. She knows and can advice me about what I can do or what I cannot do yet. Yoga is now part of my life, and I really want to continue, even though my child was born.  I highly recommend Céline’s classes to all pregnant women who want to make their pregnancy and the birth of their child be a happy and unique experience, peaceful and full of joy. And of course, Yoga is great for anyone who wants to get in tune with their body and their mind.

Another testimonial to thank you for the efficiency and professionalism of your classes. After 4 months of Prenatal Yoga, I asked you, on January 25th, 5 days before term, to have me work on beneficial poses for the delivery. Few hours later, I broke waters, and ran to the hospital! My adorable daughter Leonora was born at 3.33 pm. Thank you again for your help, and long live Himayoga!

Emmanuelle Cathelineau, Director of cooperation

Yoga was a great part of my life during pregnancy. It helped me to get restored each week, to relax and to soothe the baby and me. I just enjoyed making space in my belly for the baby, as much as I was making space for him in my life… Finally, a pregnancy without any backache, it is a blessing, thank to Yoga! Again thank you for your help, care and attention.
